HISTORY

The place was inhabited in the Gallo-Roman times as evidenced by a head in bronze Museum of Roanne. It is mentioned in the thirteenth century. In the sixteenth century, there had been a manor mattress that was burned during the troubles of the League. It was built under Henri IV by Mr. Jean Chézard, a gentleman from Florence and Roannais fixed. He was the great mystic girl French, Jeanne de Matel Chézard (1596-1670) founder of the Order of the Incarnate Word. The manor house, rebuilt again by Dumas, Terray went to Antoine de Rosière, brother of dreaded abbé Terray, controller general of finance, then by marriage to the Myrat and the Rose. He then became the property of the abbot Claude Eleonore de Chavagnac who built a chapel and donated after his death in 1811, his nephew the Comte Alexandre de Marie Camille Chavagnac. It was purchased in 1849 by Charles Michel and Mrs. Michel J.-B. who left their niece, Eugénie Michel. It married the commander who had Poulot children Poulot Charles, a chemical engineer (1859-1929) and Mrs. Calemard of Genestoux. After belonged from January to July 1919 to André Citroën, it was bought by the family Calemard of Genestoux. Finally in August 1941 he purchased 40 acres, by the France-Rayon. In 1990 the castle was bought by the Japanese to build a cooking school and language: the school of 3 bridges. The Castle is now the principal residence of a French family, and Olivier Laure Bourgeois. The castle was now intended to be an open, friendly and refined. Weddings and seminars are organized with an additional opportunity for room guests. The castle contained Mattress quantity of old paintings and furniture, whose main parts were exhibited in 1890 at the Exposition rétrospective Forézienne in Roanne. They included paintings of François Clouet (portrait of Charles IX), Rigaud, Van Ostade. These artefacts were removed near Vichy, in the sale of the castle by the family Calemard of Genestoux. The view east over the prairies that stretch to the Loire is charming. The wood extends to the west of the Castle and is surrounded by beautiful villas engineers. The dressing rooms have been furnished house and meeting rooms, a large hall can accommodate over 200 people.
